QuiverQuant Review: See Insider Trades & Alternative Data

Quiver Quantitative, often called QuiverQuant, brings congressional disclosures, corporate insider transactions and other alternative datasets into one stock-research platform. Its value is in finding and organizing information you can investigate further—not in revealing trades before they are disclosed or guaranteeing an investment edge.

This review covers its data, current pricing and practical limitations, then shows how research from Quiver can inform a separate chart-analysis workflow on LuxAlgo’s AI trading and charting platform. LuxAlgo’s Quant coding agent and Quiver Quantitative are different products.

What Data Does QuiverQuant Provide?

Quiver’s public site lists congressional trading, insider trading, government contracts, corporate lobbying, institutional holdings, patents and consumer-interest datasets. These sources answer different questions, so start with the dataset relevant to your research rather than treating every update as a trading signal.

DatasetResearch useWhat to check
Congressional disclosuresReview reported transactions by members of Congress.Transaction date versus disclosure date, ownership and reported value range.
Corporate insider activityInspect reported purchases and sales by company insiders.Transaction type, filing details and whether the trade fits a broader pattern.
Government contracts and lobbyingInvestigate a company’s government exposure.Contract context and company disclosures; an award amount is not automatically current revenue.
Patents and consumer-interest dataGenerate questions about innovation or attention.Commercial relevance and independent confirmation; attention alone does not establish business value.

The Congress Trading dashboard is a starting point for political disclosures. The separate Insider Trading dashboard parses SEC filings and states that its displayed dataset covers open-market purchases and sales. These are distinct reporting systems, not interchangeable definitions of “insider trading.”

How to Track Insider Trades

Quiver Quantitative’s introductory walkthrough of its tracking tools. The video uses an older interface; refer to the current site for pricing and available features.

Disclosure Timing Matters

Congressional transactions are not disclosed at execution. The House Ethics Committee describes the deadline for covered transactions over $1,000 as the earlier of 30 days after awareness or 45 days after the transaction. The Senate’s guidance uses the same 30-day/45-day framework. An alert about a newly published filing can therefore refer to a trade made weeks earlier.

For corporate insiders, Form 4 generally must be filed within two business days of the transaction, according to the SEC’s investor bulletin. Read the actual filing and transaction codes before interpreting a sale, purchase or change in ownership. A disclosed transaction alone does not establish unlawful insider trading.

For any historical strategy, the usable signal begins when the information was available to your process. Buying on the original transaction date when the disclosure arrived later introduces look-ahead bias. Record disclosure and ingestion timing, then allow a realistic delay before any simulated order.

QuiverQuant Pricing and Premium Tools

Checked September 7, 2026: Quiver’s public plan comparison shows a free Visitor tier and Premium at $30 billed monthly or $300 billed yearly, equivalent to $25 per month. These are the displayed standard rates; temporary promotions and checkout terms can differ.

Premium lists alerts, screeners, watchlists, strategy holdings/performance, Congress and Institutional Backtesters, and Smart Score analysis. Copytrading is offered through a partnership with Quantbase; do not assume the website subscription itself covers every requirement or cost of a connected investment service. Quiver’s disclosures identify its copytrading and marketing partnerships.

The Quiver API is a separate product for programmatic research, with its own access and pricing. Its site also describes an MCP server for connecting data to AI workflows. Website Premium should not be treated as blanket API access.

Strengths and Limitations

Quiver’s main strength is consolidating unusual datasets and exposing tools for working with them. That can reduce the effort needed to assemble a research shortlist. Its public dashboards also let you inspect the presentation before choosing a paid workflow.

The central limitation is the data itself. Quiver states that information can be delayed, outdated or inaccurate because of collection and source limitations. Backtested strategy results are not a guarantee of future returns. A stock score, portfolio leaderboard or compelling individual example needs a methodology check before it can support a decision.

  • Check the source: follow the disclosure or company record and look for amendments.
  • Check the timestamp: distinguish the event, filing and first available observation.
  • Check the test: include transaction costs, realistic execution timing and a comparison benchmark.
  • Check the sample: evaluate more than the best-performing politician, stock or period.

For example, if you notice several contract announcements, compare their scope with the company’s existing business and disclosures before treating them as a revenue catalyst. If a patent catches your attention, investigate whether it has a credible commercial use. These are research steps, not evidence that the event will cause a price increase.

From Alternative Data to a LuxAlgo Chart

After using Quiver to identify a stock worth investigating, you can open that symbol on LuxAlgo’s native charts, examine price and volume, and save a workspace for follow-up. This is a manual research handoff; it does not imply a built-in Quiver data connection.

LuxAlgo’s native multi-chart workspace provides a separate place to review price context. Source: LuxAlgo documentation.

Use Quant, LuxAlgo’s coding agent, to define a chart-based study or strategy. A focused request might be: “Create an indicator showing a 20-period moving average and highlight bars whose volume exceeds their 20-period average.” Review the generated code and plots before relying on the study. See Quant’s indicator workflow.

If you want a backtest, specify entry, exit, sizing and cost assumptions, inspect the trades and preserve a baseline run. A price-and-volume backtest does not test a congressional-disclosure strategy unless the relevant historical event data and availability timing are actually part of that test. See LuxAlgo’s strategy workflow.

LuxAlgo also offers TradingView toolkits through a separate account connection. Its native charts and Quant provide the direct charting and coding workflow described here.

Who Is QuiverQuant For?

Quiver is worth evaluating when alternative-data research is part of a repeatable process. Start with one question, verify a sample of records and see whether the free tools are sufficient. Consider Premium when you can identify which additional capability saves time or enables a test you actually need.

For immediate execution signals, delayed public disclosures have an obvious timing constraint. For longer research horizons, they can still provide useful leads, but neither a particular holding period nor a subscription tier establishes an edge. Combine source verification, chart context and a clearly defined test before drawing conclusions.
